Positions:
Technical assistant in instrumentation, experimentation, and measurement
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a technical field (e.g. physical measurements and
- instrumentation)
- Work experience at a research facility or in industry. Experience at a large-scale facility and of the concept of user service would be an advantage.
- Strong technical expertise in scientific instrumentation, including its design, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance. A solid background in electronics is essential, complemented by skills in mechanical engineering and design.
- Availability/motivation/curiosity to evolve and learn to use various equipment (also via training)
- Willingness to interact with various stakeholders at ILL, including logistics (orders, stock, deliveries),
- maintenance teams, group members, safety engineers, and fellow technicians
- Autonomy and good communication skills and have a sound knowledge of English or French
Mechanical Engineer Modelling & Simulation
Qualifications / Experience:
- You have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering (or related field) and at least 5 years" experience of performing mechanical design calculations, ideally in a design office.
- Experience of civil engineering design calculations would be an asset.
- You are proficient in finite element analysis and mechanical simulation using ANSYS, as well as static, dynamic, fatigue, vibration and impact methods. You have a thorough knowledge of the standards and regulations in force and are familiar with CODAP, RCC-M and Eurocodes.
- You are meticulous and methodical, able to work independently, and have a proactive approach to proposing solutions.
Health Physics Technician
Qualifications / Experience:
- Level 4 qualification (NVQ, BTEC, HNC or equivalent) in health physics/radiation protection.
- At least two years" professional experience in a radioactive environment is desirable.
- Experience in a radioactivity measurements laboratory and experience in the use of the NF EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard would be appreciated.
- You have the ability to work both alone and in a team, with a sense of initiative and a methodical approach.
- You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French
Security officer
Qualifications / Experience:
- You have a Level 3/4 qualification (‘A’ level, NVQ or equivalent) in the field of security.
- You hold a valid private security guard licence (CNAPS licence, SIA licence or equivalent).
- You have extensive security experience in the private or public sector, or in the emergency services (military, fire service, police, etc.).
- You must be proficient in the use of IT tools and surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, etc.).
- You must be able to demonstrate good reactivity and a methodical approach to your work. You are a team player and maintain good self-control at all times.
