Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, loaders, dumpers, forklifts, related to recycling equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and statutory inspections.
- Identify faults in hydraulic, diesel, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Perform breakdown repairs on-site or in workshop settings.
- Maintain accurate service records and defect reports.
- Ensure all work complies with:Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations.
- Company procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Liaise with supervisors regarding equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and upskilling as required.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (e.g. QQI Level 5/6 or equivalent).
- Proven experience working as a Plant Mechanic, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, or Field Service.
- Strong knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems, Mechanical and basic electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Full clean driving licence (Category B essential; C desirable).
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Safe Pass (Ireland) essential.
- Manual Handling certification.
What We Offer:
- Starting salary: euros45.000 per year (based on a 40-hour workweek).
- Permanent position of a full time basis.
- Location: Dublin 12.
